iOS 17.3: Apple Suddenly Pulls Important iPhone Update Hours After Release

Apple Faces Glitch with iOS 17.3 Beta Update: Devices Stuck in Boot Loop

Apple recently rolled out the second beta update for iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 to developers, aiming to introduce new features. Unfortunately, some users faced a major issue as their devices got stuck in a boot loop after installing the update. The problem prompted Apple to quickly pull back the update.

Users who attempted to update their iPhones to iOS 17.3 beta 2 reported being stuck with a black screen displaying a frozen spinning wheel. The only known fix for this problem appears to be restoring the affected device. It is likely that Apple withdrew the update to address this bug before re-releasing it.

Some affected users speculated that the boot loop issue could be linked to the Back Tap setting. Developer Guilherme Rambo shared a log suggesting that Back Tap caused his device to crash. While some users with Back Tap enabled experienced issues, others did not encounter any problems during the update.

The iOS 17.3 beta update brought a new Stolen Device Protection feature, requiring Face ID or Touch ID verification for specific actions to enhance security. This includes accessing passwords in iCloud Keychain, making purchases through Safari, and more. Additionally, collaborative Apple Music playlists were introduced to allow users to share playlists easily.

Despite the setback, Apple is expected to release the stable version of iOS 17.3 later in January. Stay tuned for further updates on this matter.
